Morning Musume by Aece McCloud
It is very interesting that UFA has been silent about the whole incident and they are trying to let the whole issue die without any concerns. The best they came up with is ‘…according to the article they are only appearing to be dating so it doesn’t concerns us.’ Hopefully the whole issue will die and nothing else in the Hello Project will happen before her graduation.

A summary of the article:
- Reporters caught them when they were going to a sauna in Ebisu.
- there are 3 photos of both of them on it:
- them coming out of the sauna salon
- them walking towards Shouji’s car
- them in convenience store
- There is also a photo of them entering the apartment complex Shouji lives in.
- The pics were taken on the day Tsuji announced her pregnancy.
- Looks like Miki stayed overnight at his place for 3 consecutive days during the spring tour in the first half of April.
Friday reveals news of the two leaving a sauna, and having a 3-day-long date. Both are seen entering Shouji’s 4WD car, going for a 2-hour-long dinner to a Japanese-style dining bar, then stopping at Miki’s apartment and leaving in less than one hour for a sauna salon. Just after midnight, they are seen going back to Shouji’s apartment.
According to FujiTV, UFA has commented on this case.
“Looking at the article, there is no proof they’re dating, so we as the agency have no intention to deal with this” .
Yaguchi comments Miki’s news for Nikkan Sports “I just saw it today.”*eyes opened wide in surprise* I will have to go and ask her about more details”.
Miki appeared on the weekly radio show “Young Town Doyoubi” and freely admits that the photos in the Friday article were true, and she indeed went to a sauna, a restaurant, and apartment with Shouji.

Okay, we gathered Fujimoto may have not made the mistake as UFA is not bothered too much with the issue. But the only interesting part is how UFA is trying to make the leadership of Fujimoto to be successful until she graduates from Morning Musume. The inside story is Fujimoto is not making it easy for UFA on keeping her as the leader for Morning Musume for long and the only way for her to step off from the leadership is to graduate from the group which is in no ones favor. All news about Kago, Tsuji and Fujimoto will continue to keep Mitsui, Lin Lin and Jun Jun very uncomfortable and they will have hard time keeping themselves relaxed and without fear.
We know how the Japanese media works; once a bad scandal of a celebrity leaks out it is usually on all news channels and would make it difficult for the celebrities to deal with it on any future TV appearances. Morning Musume is already in a bad position as of now with all of the old members now gone and the new ones are not making any good examples for the current members. Fujimoto is probably feeling lonely as she has already overgrown all members and cannot find any new place where she can fit in and seeking something new. One of the most powerful lady of Morning Musume ‘Nakazawa’ showed the most interest in the members of Morning Musume and held her control over her temptations for a long time. Of course there are times when members feel lonely, yet again, a child is not supposed to be blamed but the parents. It is all the responsibility of UFA to keep control of Morning Musume and keeping them entertained all the time. Since they are not understanding the members properly and only considering the group as a whole, more mistakes from the members are to be expected in the future.

Fujimoto created this scandal on purpose. Most obvious reason she is now bored with Morning Musume and needs a way out of it. No one in Morning Musume is stupid enough to stay at a guys place being the most important person and go to work from there. She is the most arrogant person in Morning Musume and will do whatever pleases her. This has also been proved in one of her old psychological tests where she admits to not fully care about what other members of Morning Musume think of her. It seems to be she is not taking the whole leadership issue too seriously and is not bothered at all to care about the future of Morning Musume.
Maybe the decision in promoting her as the Leader was a mistake and it completely toppled over the strategy of making Morning Musume big in her Leadership. She should be careful for at least one year as must also be discussed with her by the management of UFA; however the whole incident will also alienate her with the rest of the Morning Musume members.
BE VERY CAREFUL FUJIMOTO. This incident could end her career very quickly if she doesn’t graduate properly from Morning Musume.

Apparently they were first seen on the 8th, and there’s supposedly a picture of them having dinner.
She stayed at Shouji’s mansion for three days straight. Her outfit when heading to work was different from the one she wore the day before, which means she possibly had a change of clothes inside the mansion.

If this story is true then this will be the second blow for HelloProject this year after Tsuji Nazomi scandal turned out to be true. This is not bad right now as the worst that will happen is Fujimoto will be temporary suspended and she will probably take some very bad heat from UFA and Tsunku. However, Fujimoto after Yoshizawa Hitomi is a very key Member of Morning Musume and there is no way she is going to get eliminated permanently. However, since the girls have grown up and they are now mature such scandals are part of their nature as they can’t pretend to stay alone for a very long time and it is understandable. It would be a BIG mistake by UFA is she is eliminated from the group, as all new members needs to stay with her. Any suspension will already affect the whole group and it would be up to UFA to continue driving it to constant maturity which will be almost impossible.
Still, this doesn’t look good for HelloProject and there is something needed to be done as all of the new members need a senpai as their trainer and most of the Morning Musume members are still growing up and can’t be appointed just yet. It seems like UFA is hit by b luck just when they thought they might be able to recover from the past regressions of the members; they are still not able to come up with potential new members. As of now all Morning Musume members need more time to grow and they will probably never reach the state of Nakazawa, Yaguchi and Abe Natsumi.
There is one thing common between Nakazawa, Abe Natsumi and Yaguchi Mari, can anyone guess what is it? They are all arrogant and they speak their mind when they want it and it can be seen from various past clippings. This is what keeps them interested all the time. Current Morning Musume members are usually scared and only speak just to fit in the Project. Seemingly whatever seems necessary to make the Project successful which is boring and only a short term strategy. Morning Musume would have been in big trouble if it wasn’t for old members including Nakazawa, Lida Kaori, Yaguchi, Abe and Yoshizawa.
Since they are now all gone from Morning Musume and Fujimoto on a dangling rope, UFA is now on its own in getting a new workable strategy which is bound to fail. Fujimoto can’t go back to Solo after the incident as it wont last long and if the story is true then there was no possible *thing* between Ayaya and Fujimoto either. As I mentioned before (previous posts) if something happens to Fujimoto then she has no where else to go except to play safe and develop a personality like Yaguchi and do whatever she is doing.

On May 6th, 2007 Yoshizawa Hitomi graduated from Morning Musume and a fan video is available from the concert on YouTube subject to its continued availability. Omaidaitoo Yoshizawa for her continued contribution in Morning Musume, her cheerful personality and the most of a leader ever seen in Morning Musume. I wish her good luck and continued success in on-coming days.

Good questions to bring up this week with the blog post. It has been a while since I blogged because I wanted to write something more interesting and needed time for it. Today I will go through the existing structure of Morning Musume and the possible elimination ceremony in 2008. As we all know Yoshizawa Hitomi has been decided to graduate from the group and Fujimoto Miki will be the next leader for the Morning Musume. This is ironic as she is still very young in the group compared to five other members of Morning Musume who are more experienced performing including Eri, Risa, Reina, Takahashi and Sayumi. One possible reason she would be the leader is Fujimoto looks more elder compared to other members and has developed a personality of a very humble woman and the decision is not related anywhere with the talent, level of fun but popularity. Tsunku must be planning some very good numbers while Fujimoto is still in the group as a leader. If he is not then placing Fujimoto on top was a mistake and he would have placed Takahashi Ai as the leader while he is taking more time for Fujimoto. Just to clear a few things Takahashi has more talent then Eri, Risa, Reina and Sayumi and she also produced some co-singles with Tsunku. Subordinating Fujimoto after Yossie’s graduation is not a big surprise for Takahashi.
Lets go through the strcuture of Morning Musume after graduation of Yoshizawa Hitomi from Morning Musume.

As you can see we will be left with seven potential members of Morning Musume. I have placed Risa Niigaki on top as she is more talented and mature then other four members in the bottom. I have rated observing her past appearences, performances, interviews, popularity level and participation. This is Not the same Gaki-chan as we saw in ‘Mechaike Bakajo Kimatsu Test’. She has greatly improved and managed to change about 80% of her old personality to a very fun loving one. All other bottom members haven’t been able to improve themselves as much instead got influenced from Risa every now and then. However, she lacks leading skills and may not be suitable as a subordinate of Takahashi Ai in future which will get very tricky as it is becoming a very interesting game of who is more talented and who is to graduate also since the time is running out for all of them.
Koharu was a great addition in the group. In a very short time she has shown great talent and may be the next leading role model as a solo artist after Goto Maki. The same reason she is allowed to produce more singles to develop more fun and later more sexy figure and most probably be allowed to co-produce singles with Goto Maki; a very similar combination we saw with Aya Matsuura and Fujimoto Mikitty in GAM. Koharu Kusume is a tricky girl because the management and Tsunku wants her to surpass Risa, Tanaka, Eri and Sayumi which is bound to happen. The reason is Tsunku wishes to change the structure of Morning Musume as much as possible. The best winning method in keeping fans interested is to move around the structure of Morning Musume as much as possible. However, this requires fresh talent which needs to be matured and someone senior is needed to guide them. Nakazawa is getting very old in doing it and Abe Natsumi and Yaguchi Mari seems to be the only best backup members who can make that happen for Tsunku. Pretty sneaky for Tsunku to keep these members intact but they also have no other options so its a win-win game for both.
THE DECISION FOR YEAR 2008 GRADUATING MEMBER WOULD BE THE MOST DIFFICULT FOR TSUNKU.
Lets go through some proposed facts and assumptions that I made:
1. Koharu Kusume is set to exceed talents of Eri Kamei, Michishige Sayumi, Tanaka Reina and Risa Niigaki.
2. Most talented senior members ever produced by Morning Musume includes Nakazawa Yuuko, Yaguchi Mari and Abe Natsumi.
3. Decision for Yossie’s graduation was the easiest for Tsunku since he is buying more time before making critical decision for year 2008.
4. If Fujimoto is set to decide in year 2008 then it would be a BIG MISTAKE!!
5. According to my analysis for all seven potential members, Michishige Sayumi and Eri Kamei will be on the top of list to graduate either in year 2008 or 2009.
I have made three possible Group Sets that might exist after graduation in 2008.
Set 1 : Fujimoto, Takahashi, Reina, Risa, Koharu (In case Sayumi and Eri graduates)
Set 2 : Takahashi, Eri, Sayumi, Reina, Risa and Koharu (Mistake has been made)
Set 3 : Fujimoto, Takahashi, Reina, Risa, Koharu & Eri (Sayumi leaves, a very unusual decision)
Morning Musume strategy involves putting Group at a great Loss after graduation. That means if Fujimoto is not decided to graduate in year 2008 then two other members has to go. Either way it is a loss for Morning Musume on both accounts.
One fact missed by management of Hello Project and Tsunku is that the amount of talent existed after graduation of Abe Natsumi is the most ever achieved by the group and is not the same after graduation of Yoshizawa Hitomi. That means the talent is declining and they are not seemed to be very serious by recruiting Mitsui, JunJun and LinLin.
The talent in the group is degrading, members are graduating, time is running out to recruit new members, new members may not be able to reach heights of Takahashi Ai & Risa, and the groups seems to be in One Big Mess after 4 years. Something is needed to be done and it needs to be done now. There may have been some external force involved in recruiting JunJun and LinLin since the ties between Japan and China are getting stronger and becoming more friendly, but that doesn’t require jeopardizing the very existence of the group. If someone is reading this then do take time and decide for yourself if the strategy planned for the next few years will work or not.
If *Yes* then its fine; If *maybe* then back to the strategy board.
